Valuation Education was formed to provide valuation professionals with continuing education – both in person and online – about legal, regulatory and risk issues. It strives to offer education that is interesting, useful and affordable. Valuation Education is affiliated with LIA Administrators & Insurance Services (www.liability.com), which insures more than 15,000 professionals and firms throughout the United States. Having offered professional liability insurance to valuation professionals for over 30 years, LIA maintains the largest database of valuation-related claims in the world. Indeed, LIA has logged and tracked the details of more than 7,500 individual lawsuits and claim situations relating to valuation. It is from these records that the content of Valuation Education courses is designed.
Peter Christensen designs the content for and instructs our courses. Peter has been a member of the California bar since 1993 and has been LIA’s general counsel for over 10 years. He maintains a law practice oriented to legal and regulatory issues concerning real estate valuation and has worked on several of the largest appraisal liability cases in the U.S. He earned both his B.S. in business administration and his law degree at the University of California at Berkeley
Summer Christensen constructs the online courses offered by Valuation Education. She builds our videos, assessments and resource materials in the learning management platform. When not constructing new courses, Summer is a student at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
